With an educational background in the Bronx, Lex Zain informs the Leaders In Our Neighborhood (LION) Charter School as chief academic officer. Responsible for instructional strategies at K to 12 levels, Lex Zain has implemented contemporary, data-driven teaching methods incorporating differentiated instruction. These methods boost the quality of teaching and help improve student outcomes. She also instills fiscal responsibility and ensures the appropriate use of available resources.

Ms. Zain spent nearly a decade as middle school director with Hyde Leadership Charter School and delivered holistic support that spanned students' social, emotional, and academic needs. She implemented cutting-edge technologies that help engage and motivate students to achieve their best. She emphasized creating a positive and inclusive school culture that met academic and behavioral objectives.

Previously, Ms. Zain served as a teacher and department chair at the Frederick Douglass Academy. She implemented rigorous, standards-aligned lessons and creatively blended pedagogical approaches. It resulted in targeted mathematics lessons that encouraged sustained performance improvements. Ms. Zain holds New York State certifications in childhood education and school-building leadership.
